The Great Race

I designed a car out of styrofoam, wrapping paper, racecar wheels, seats, and a steering wheel from supplies I found in my house. My car is an example of Newton's Laws of Motion because when my car is in the rest position it will stay that way and when it is in motion it will stay in motion at constant velocity unless an unbalanced force or a changing force changes it.

Literature: The Fox And The Goat Moral

The moral of this fable is to never trust anything that you don't know because it might be lying to you. In this fable the fow lied to the goat to get it to come into the well and tricked the goat into helping him out, but getting itself stuck in the well. This fable is very true because if you don't know somebody or something that is telling you what to do and you are on the edge about it don't do it because it might end up biting you in the neck.

Literature: The Crow And The Pitcher Moral

I think the moral in this fable is to never give up on something you really want or that you really care about. The crow almost died without the water. If he gave up, he would be dead know. This is the biggest moral for this fable because it sometimes have to do with life or death situations.

Literature: The Fisher And The Little Fish Moral

The moral in this fable is to take advantage of what you have now because you might not have that same thing in the future. In this fable, the fish was trying to be sneaky by tricking the fisherman to save his life and kill him when his is bigger. The fisherman realized that he might not catch the same fish when the fish is older. The fisherman was making a good decision in my opinion. I think this is the only moral in this fable.

Literature: The Four Oxen And The Lion Moral

I think the moral of this fable is to do do what you think is right first. In the fable the oxens started out doing the right thing by protecting themselves and each other from the lion. They got tired of working together because it was taking along time, so they just split into separate corners and all got attacked one-by-one. If they kept working together they would have driven the lion away, but they were to lazy to do that. This is the major moral I see in this fable.

Literature: The Wolf In The Sheep's Clothing Moral

I think this fable means that you should give people there space and if you do, good things will come to you. In this fable the lamb did the opposite, it followed the wolf and got it mad. At the end the wolf ended up killing the lamb. This fable has another moral. That moral would be, be happy with your self and don't try to change who you are to please other people. In this fable the wolf didn't fit in, so it found a costume to wear and it changed how the wolf looked. The wolf now looks like a sheep. The wolf took the skin of the lambs parents and this made the sheep very mad. I wolf ended up killing the sheep because it was following it and being annoying. These are the two main morals of this fable.

I think this story is sad at first when the family makes the grandfather sit by himself at dinner because he is a messy eater and is very annoying at the dinner table, but when the father realized what he did and that is was wrong he changed his mind right away and led the grandfather right back to the dining table. What was wrong about what the father did was he was being respectful to his father. That was my favorite part in the story because the father did the right thing right when he realized it was wrong.

I think this story relates mostly to the E in C.A.R.E.S.: Empathy because the father at the end is being empathetic about the grandfather's feelings. I think the lesson that is taught here is family is family no matter what. This means that you have to be care and respect other people's feelings especially your family because they will love and support you no matter what.

Science: Do Humans and Chimps have the same amount of genes?

I learned from the website: http://www.thetech.org/genetics/ask.php?id=69 that humans and chimps do not have the same number of chromosomes, but because chimps and humans are so similar they do have the same amount of genes. Humans and chimps do not have the same amount of chromosomes but because they are so similar one human chromosome is made up of two chrimp chromosomes.
