What I learned about Heredity and Traits?
I learned a lot about heredity and traits on that tour. I learned that Humans have two complete sets of twenty-three chromosomes, in all you have fourty-six chromosomes. When adults conceive a child, they each contribute one complete set to the child. That way the child will have half of there mother's traits and half of there father's traits. The chromosomes that a child gets from its parents are chosen randomly, there is no way to choose what traits your child will get and what traits your child won't get. I also learned a lot about inheriting traits. When adults have a child, they pass one of there two alleles to there child. The child's trait is determined by the alleles he or she receives from his or her parents. Each child from these parents can receive a different combination of alleles. I learned many more things on that tour, but I thought these were the most interesting.

Class Reflection For Science
I had a lot of fun doing the owl pellet unit. It is really gross because we had to touch owl puke. After, you stop thinking about what you are actually touching and doing, you realize how fun it can be. My favorite part was looking for all of the bones and making them into a skeleton. It made me feel like I was a detective and my mission was to find out what the owl eat and if it eat everything in the animal. When you think about dissecting owl pellets in that way, it makes you feel like there is a reason for doing this. A very fun reason. Even though owl pellets were really gross, they were a lot of fun. I also had a really good time because I was in a group with my friends and we work really well together. In conclusion, it was a lot of fun dissecting owl pellets.

Science Second Current Event
Global warming has been getting worse and worse lately. Even in Antarctica global warming has been getting worse than it has ever been. If humans don't start taking better care of the Earth, than my grandchildren might never know what a ploar bear or a penguin is because they will probably be extinct by then. Antarctica's temperature has even got to d degrees celcius and it is usually below zero. The temperature has increased alarmingly. Soon probably all of the glaciers will melt, This would be really bad because it took a long time for the glaciers to build in really think ice, that aren't suppose to melt.

Science First Current Event
The Ethiopian wolf is the most endangered wolf in the world. It is really close to being extinct. To make matters worse, the wolves are now getting rabies. A team of Oxford University and Ethiopian conservationists are trying their best to save the world's rarest wolf by creating a vaccine to protect wolf packs. I think it is a very good idea to vaccinate the wolves, so they don't get rabies. It is just like when humans get flu shots, to make sure we don't get sick.
The Ethiopian wolves are mostly at Bale Mountain National Park in the Oromia Region of southeast Ethiopia. Ethiopia is on the Horn of Africa. Ethiopia's neighboring countries are Sudan, Sumalia, Djibouti, Kenya, and Eritrea.
The Oromo people had dogs. Suddenly, the dogs had awful cases of rabies. The dogs gave the rabies to the wolves by being around them a lot. When the Ethiopian wolves became infected with rabies, it was more severe than what the dogs had. At least fourteen wolves have died so far. Scientists think there will be another outbreak and this time even worse. Also, rabies is likely to kill two-thirds of all wolves in Bale's Web Valley, in Bale Mountain National Park. I think it is very sad that so many wolves and dogs are getting sick. If they have to die anyway, they should die a peaceful life not a painful life.
A team led by Dr.Sillero and Dr. Fekadu Shiferaw came up with a plan to vaccinate wolf packs to prevent the virus from spreading. The researchers knew from previous outbreaks that they had to move very quickly. I think it is a very good idea to vaccinate the wolves, so they don't get sick. But, the researchers really need to make sure they work quickly, so they can get to all of the wolf packs, and save all of the wolves.

Bullying Questions For Literature
I think the reason society or even our Crossroads community can't stop bullying because we all aren't working hard enough to be able to do it. If we all really, really tried our hardest I bet we would succeed. I think this relates a lot to "The Wave" because if someone helped Robert Billings learn and concentrate he could be a really good student.

Literature
I think the character i relate to most in the book "The Gift Of MAgic" is Kriby because she loves to dance just like me. She is also passionate about what she does and how she does things. She also is very smart and cares about her grades, especially after she got hurt.
Welcome Scientists
My favorite subject is math because I am really good at it.
The best book I ever read was Pish Posh.
My favorite food to buy in the cafeteria is the shell pasta with Alfredo sauce.
On the weekends when all of my chores are done I like to dance.
If I won a free airline ticket to any place I wanted, I would go to Spain because I like to go to places I learn about and it is beautiful there.
My favorite color is pink.
I have two pet guinea pigs named Lulu and Oreo.
This year if I work hard enough, i hope to get on a higher level in dance and math, get onto a dance competition team, and take more dance classes.
